SAMUEL DICKSON - VANCOUVER YACHTS SALES - 1-833-UCYACHT EXT 7

Cheoy Lees origins began in a Shanghai shipyard that opened in 1870 to build and repair steam-powered vessels. In 1936, the founding family - which still operates Cheoy Lee today - moved the shipyard to Hong Kong, and by the mid-1950s the shipyard branched out into the construction of teak sailing and motor yachts, designed by notable naval architects.

Throughout the 1960s and 70s Cheoy Lee pioneered the development, testing and use of fiberglass construction techniques, and advanced fiberglass technology to become a forerunner in the marine use of GRP/ foam sandwich construction.  Though the company continues to produce top quality motor yachts to this day, 1980 was the last year they produced sailing yachts.

This 1980 Cheoy Lee Clipper 42 Ketch was designed by A. E. Bill Luders, and was popular from the start because of her classic lines.  As a cutter rigged ketch, with a three-quarter keel, bow sprit, graceful sheerlines, and moderate overhangs, it is an attractive and offshore capable vessel with two staterooms and the ability to sleep 7.

This boat has benefited from extensive upgrades and work done inside and out.  Extensive rigging work in 2011 included all new & oversized standing rigging, new running rigging, and a new yankee furler, all totalling in $12,000.  Repowered with a new diesel engine in 2014 for another $12,000, it can make 7 kts under power. Custom made hard dodger, new bimini, full cockpit cushions, new navigation equipment, plus a diesel heater, refrigerator/ freezer, a rowing dinghy and lots of included extras make this an excellent and very well equipped opportunity.  All onboard systems work, and the boat is ready to sail away!

Plus, TRANSFERABLE MOORAGE is available in a very desirable Vancouver marina.
